Skylar Speedwell (they/them) is a queer, interdisciplinary artist, working within the practices of analog photography, fiber arts, printmaking, and book arts. They are currently living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Studio Arts at Kendall College of Art and Design. Skylar’s work has been exhibited in Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, Holland, and Detroit, Michigan. They also work remotely for Nevada-based artist Rora Blue, the creator of the online archive The Unsent Project. Skylar’s work primarily examines the discontinuation of traumatic generational cycles through self-reflection. They live with their cat, Junebug, and they find inspiration and solace in visits to Lake Michigan.
